Vanilla
Vanilla is the world's second most expensive spice, and it's still the world's most popular flavor for ice cream. We use the utmost care choosing the source of our vanilla.
Different beans have different tastes:
- Madagascar: Mellow and creamy; often referred to as "bourbon" vanilla beans because they're grown on the Bourbon Islands
- Mexico: Mild and smooth
- Tahiti: More aromatic, musky and sweet
- Indonesia: Smokier and sharper
We use Madagasar ("Bourbon") vanilla. And as always, when we use an ingredient that we cannot get from local growers, we select an organic supplier. Choosing this flavor will infuse your ice cream base with a subtle and aromatic vanilla essence.
